Arbor Circle-Outpatient Counseling Center

Arbor Circle’s outpatient counseling services include culturally and developmentally appropriate assessments, treatment planning, individual, family and group services for an array of mental health concerns. These include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, substance use, anger, grief and loss, family relationship and parenting issues, school issues, abuse, and trauma.

Bethany Christian Services

Bethany Christian Services help provide family counseling with topics including but not limited to abuse/neglect, adjustment issues, adoption issues, anxiety and depression, behavioral or learning difficulties, developmental concerns, eating disorders, grief/loss concerns, marital difficulties, peer/sibling conflicts, separation and divorce, and stress or anger management.

Center for Counseling and Psychological Center

Low-cost counseling services in many different subject areas for families, groups, and individuals of all ages.

Children’s Assessment Center

The children’s assessment center is a place where child victims (or suspected victims) of sexual assault can come to receive support, assessments, and therapy. Family members may also receive some services at the assessment center.

D.A. Blodgett St. John’s

Filled with a variety of services and programs, D.A. Blodgett serves: Foster Care youth, counseling for unplanned pregnancy, parenting education for young parents mentoring for pregnant and parenting teens, treatment for youth with delinquent behaviors, counseling for young offenders, in school services for families and children, mentoring services for youth with incarcerated parents, mentoring for school children, homes for youth that have been abused ages 13-17, and therapy for youth that have faced abuse ages 6-12. Emergency shelter(s) available for the abused and neglected.

Family Futures

Family Futures knows abuse can be a vicious cycle, which must be broken. With RAVE (Resources Against Violent Encounters), we work with middle and high school youth, so they understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. They are able to recognize both and build their confidence in life.

Legal Aid of West Michigan

Free legal assistance available to people with low- incomes that are having non-criminal legal problems including spousal or child abuse, public assistance, consumer rights or tenants’ rights.

Men’s Resource Center

Men’s resource center exists to assist men in growth and awareness through counseling, education, and workshops. They offer both group and individual counseling to men struggling with adjustment, intimacy, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, substance abuse, and parenting. Their mission is “men growing in mind and spirit and joining to create a caring, strong and safe community.”

Michigan Youth Opportunity Initiative (MYOI)

MYOI’S goal is to ensure that young people in foster care have successful outcomes in housing, education, employment, community engagement, and health. Each site provides:

Training: Training opportunities are provided to educate a person’s purchases, life skills, and preparation for adult hood including housing, employment, education, health, and community engagement.

Matches: Each youth has an individual development account, IDA. Youth are required to save money in their IDA each month. MYOI matches the IDA funds dollar-to-dollar up to $1000 per year for a used to purchase an asset.

Stipends: Use stipend payments for participation in events and meetings. The stipends assist youth to save money in their IDA’s. Earning stipends is a tangible way to recognize the time and effort that they have contributed to the program.

Youth Boards: The Youth board serve as the leadership and advocacy arm of MYOI. Youth are trained in leadership, media, and communication skills, including how to strategically share their story and present on panels.

Community Partners Boards: A community partner board is a group of business, public and private agencies, and community representatives that have an interest in assisting youth who are transitioning out of foster care. Community partner board members provide support, discounts to services, and advocacy as a form of care for youth.

Network180

The community mental health authority for Kent county including but not limited to services in case management, assessments, crisis intervention, residential services, and housing assistance.

YWCA

This organization provides services for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and girls inc.; a program especially designed to educate and empower girls. YWCA also provides medical/forensic examinations and support to victims of sexual assault, who were sexually assaulted within the past 72 hours. Both adult and pediatric patients are welcome. The exams are performed on a 24 hour on-call basis. Nurse Examiner Program services are available at no cost.
